Of course it’s Tommy Lee Jones when you come to Japan and see his rugged (and almost sad-like face) on vending machines for coffee.
I have been a big fan of Tommy Lee Jones’ work over the years, but I just found this all a little too weird. The TV ads are just as weird. He would never do something like this back in the States.
Seeing Tommy Lee Jones’ face on all these vending machines and billboards around Tokyo and Yokohama, reminded me a little of Bill Murray’s character in Lost in Translation when he does a commercial for Suntory Whiskey in the film—“For relaxing times, make it Suntory time.”
