There’s still a little more travelling left before the extended holiday and vacation I’ve been on since last September ends next week.
It’s a little strange to think of a road trip to Seoul–after having lived there for almost 16 years–and only being about an hour away by the KTX (Korea’s high-speed train), but that’s what it is going to seem like when I head up there later this morning.
Although this road trip is still within the parameters of the holiday mode I am still on, one of the things that I want to do more on this second tour of Korea as it were is to get out more on the weekends and travel around the country. I got really complacent and lazy the last year or two I was here before I left last year and spent too much time just hanging out at home. Maybe that was the first tell-tale sign of job burnout when all I wanted to do was just work and come home. It was so easy to come home on a Friday night and literally stay in my room–hunkered down with a steady diet of Papa John’s and movies–until Monday morning.
